A Day at The Huntington: Flowers, Shakespeare, and Some Other Dead Dudes - Day 10

The previous night, we had to regrettably say goodbye to our hometown buddy who had to go back home for some type of homely duties, but we still had a day left of hanging out with our Spanish friend. She took us to the Huntington Library for an early birthday present.

Besides having a horrible headache, and the museum gift shop having zero painkillers of any kind (isn't a museum legally required to have a small first aid kit of some kind?) it was quite an enjoyable day. We were able to reminisce about Japan in the Japanese garden, reminisce about the good times with Shakespeare in the Shakespeare garden, and reminisce about that time I got heat stroke in the Desert garden... oh wait, that was today.

Seriously though, the library really got my juices flowing. They had the original folio of Shakespeare's works on display, not to mention a choice selection of manuscripts written by Chris Marlowe, Aphra Behn, and a few other wonderful people of the English Renaissance. There were displays of other Literary time periods/genres such as: American Modernism, the Middle Ages, The Romantics.... blah blah blah... awesome- but clearly paled in comparison to aforementioned wonderfulness.

Then we went home to nap and hang out with our friend to discuss the meaning of life. What a day.
